Flashback!

I took this picture the other day and had a total deja vu moment. Macey has always been a cuddler... and has always had a soft spot for laying with Daddy! She was 4 months old in the 2nd picture.

I stole.

From Walmart. That's right, let it sink in.... I STOLE.... from Walmart. And MACEY made me do it!

Yesterday I took a trip down the road to our local Walmart for a few essential items. One of them being some chap stick for Macey. Randy and I are sick and tired of her stealing and losing ours, so I decided it's high time that this kid has her own darn chap stick. So, we're at the store and I'm pushing the cart (Collin in his carseat in the big bucket and Macey in the sitting part) when Macey squealed for me to stop. We had reached (angels singing) the Bon Bon section. If you don't know what I'm talking about when I say "the Bon Bon section" (read it with much reverence) you clearly have never mothered a 3 year old little girl. After a lengthy discussion with herself, Macey picked out a clear lip gloss with a red lid that had red sparkly little hearts in the gloss. It was so Macey. That was easy, and we go on our way so I can finish up the shopping. About 10 minutes later, I feel a little hand push something down my shirt and into my (ain't no other way of saying it) cleavage. I look at Macey and she has this huge grin on her face. This is the conversation that took place:

Me: What are you doing?
Macey: My chapsticks wants to sleep in your boobs.
Me: Well alright...

To be honest, I was more focused on which bag of grapes looked the most plump and firm (no pun intended). And that was it. I forgot that I had a bon bon lip gloss lodged in between my bosoms. Even when the clerk asked me, "did you find everything ok today, ma'am?"I had no little bell go off in my head. NOTHING. In fact, it wasn't until I was getting ready for bed much later that day, putting on my pajamas when I heard the "kerplunk" and realized what had happened. Macey didn't even remember about her blessed chap stick!

Now I can't wait to see the customer service clerk's face when I tell him "I forgot to pay for this last time, it was nestled in my cleavage."

Singing in the rain.

Or... playing in the rain. Whatever.

Macey woke up this morning to the sound of rain hitting her window and was SO excited. She jumped out of bed and ran into our room asking me if she could go outside and play in the rain. Her favorite part was she got to take her new "ba-rella" out for a spin! I just love these pictures... they capture Macey in true form.

And, yes... that is our road ripped up in the background. Our whole neighborhood's roads have been under construction for the past month and a half! Our road is the last to get fixed. RAHH! That's how I feel when I wake up every morning to the sound of those machines.

Reality Check.

Today Macey was drinking a glass of chocolate milk. When she was done she let out a big sigh and said "I drank that whole fing! I have a big belly now, just like you!"

Awww, how sweet. Thanks, honey. Now go to your room.

Just more motivation for me to get my butt out the door and go running!

4 months!

I can't believe my baby is 4 months old. Waaaaaa. Collin's now almost 15 pounds! What a chunker! He is one solid boy, he's like a brick which is very different from Macey. She was squishy. :) He is just so much fun, his little personality comes out more and more everyday. This is one of my favorite ages... we sure love our little man!

'Tis the season!

For family reunions! Earlier this year we decided that we could only do two family reunions this year, it gets to be too much with little kids and school and everything else we have going on. So of course our immediate family reunions won out, and of course they were right on top of each other. We were gone for 2 full weeks out of the whole month for family reunions!

First off was the Slade Family Reunion. We have started to make it a tradition to go to Aspen Grove every other year up in Provo Canyon. It was beautiful! What a dream for me to not have to cook any meals for a full week, and just lounge around all day doing whatever I wanted (within reason... I did have Collin with me all day)! If you've never heard of Aspen Grove, you should definitely look into it. We had a ball... Macey loved going to her "Stomper" class and LOVED doing the "Super Stomper" cheer in front of everyone on the stage! Highlights of this family reunion included badminton tournaments, tennis, shuffleboard, swimming, fishing in the pond, games (I love, love, LOVE board/card games), taking walks in the beautiful canyon and just enjoying family time! Macey has a boy cousin Sawyer who is 1 year older than her to the day and a girl cousin Libby (whom she ADORES) who is 7 that she palled around with. I hardly ever saw her the whole week! She was in heaven! I'm so mad at myself that I didn't take any pictures while we were there! The scenery is unbelievable and Aspen Grove itself is a site to behold. I'm a slacker!

Then 4 days after we got home from Aspen Grove we took off to meet my family at the May Family Ranch in Clayton, Idaho. It was gorgeous there! We had a total blast... Macey was sooo excited to see her cousins, and I was sooo excited to see my family! We have a good time when we get together... I actually lost my voice from laughing so hard! Highlights from this reunion include rafting the Salmon, the awesome homemade waterslide that was at the ranch, Redfish Lake, family skits, the hot pots that we all went and sat in after dusk and of course just plain ole' spending time with the fam! Not-so-highlights included me losing my nice sunglasses in the TOILET at Redfish Lake. Don't ask questions. I was (and still am) SO MAD. I've had those glasses for over 3 years, they were by far my favorite! Just so you don't lose any sleep over coming up with a theory as to how exactly my sunglasses ended up in the toilet... I will tell you how it went down. It's very simple, really. I was helping Macey onto the toilet, she was a little scared with the whole nasty toilet that doesn't have a bowl thing, so I was bent over holding her on and... plop. Our conversation went like this:

Macey: No, I'm scared! I don't have to go potty!
Me: It's ok Macey, here, look... I'll hold you the whole time!
*Plop* (sunglasses fall in toilet)
Me: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Macey: Mommy! Did you drop yours glasses in the toilet?!
*Me making sad face.
Macey: It's ok mommy, we'll get them in a minute.
*ssssssssssssssssss

:P

Anyway, I was a slacker in Idaho too and didn't even take my camera out! Luckily, my sisters made up for it... I stole some pictures from their blogs. Every year we take turns being in charge of the Judy Reunion, this year was my sister Natalie's turn and she worked her butt off! Thanks, Nat! It was a good 'en!
