Ever wonder...

what have I gotten myself into? Like, sometimes when I have that horrid heartburn that no medicine will touch, or when I get up to pee 8 times a night, or can't find a comfortable position (no matter the number of pillows) to sleep in... I wonder that.

But then I look at pictures like this:

and I KNOW that it's all worth it. :)

Ch Ch Ch Ch Changes..

For one, Randy started a new job working for a mortgage company that specializes in government loan refinances. It has the potential to be a fantastic opportunity for us. He just started this week and is learning a lot! Scheduling work and school has been fun. He is gone most days from 8-8. Not so much fun for me, since we are a one car family now... but these are the days, right? Haha. I think I am fine with the schedule during the week, but he also has the same schedule this weekend (he's getting certified), and I am so burnt out. I should have brought Randy to work this morning so Macey and I could have gotten out of the house today, but after I made him breakfast this morning, I went back to bed and was out cold in .5 seconds. But I'm greatful for the job! Randy is catching on quickly and already has had some leads come through. Yay for that!

I'm going on 28 weeks now, and feel HUGE. I'm carrying really low and different this time around, but everything's good! I'm due for another appointment soon, but have been putting it off because I dread that dreadful glucose test. Gag! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone! Here's a picture of me a couple of days ago, just so you can see the hugeness that is my baby belly. Still trying to decide on a name.

And here is our poor kitten, who lost her mittens. And by mittens I mean ovaries. We had her spayed on Wednesday, and have been taking extra special care of her since then. Poor thing has to wear that stupid funnel for 2 weeks!! I thought that was cruel and unusual, so I took it off her one day and she went straight for her stitches. I guess those things do serve a purpose. Macey says to everyone that comes and visits "Lucy's a doctor". It's been pretty funny watching the poor kitty try and walk around with that huge thing around her neck and being all hopped up on pain medication. She falls over regularly, and hits her head into walls. It makes for good entertainment.
I'm trying to think of what else... oh! Macey will finally get into the tub without me forcing her in it... I just have to talk about her Cinderella shampoo. I've also gotten her to sit on her little potty, but she refuses to take her pants or diaper off to do it. Baby steps, baby steps. She's getting more used to poop by the day, though! Today when I changed her diaper she told me "Ugh, I stink SO BAD!" So hopefully we're onto something...

Never a dull moment.

How do 2 year olds come up with some of the things they say? I'll never know...

Macey: Oh mommy, you want me to do a pretty hair styles on you? (with a doll brush in one hand and a Rock Band drum stick in the other)
Me: Yeah! I love it when people play with my hair!
Macey: Oh mommy, you so girly!
Me: I guess so.
After she's done curling my hair with the drum stick and tangling the brush in my hair:
Macey: Oh mommy, you're so classy!

Mommy, I don't want to poop in the tub!

This is what Macey says to me every time I tell her it's time to take a bath. We had an incident (not me, her) a couple of weeks ago, and it has scarred her deeply. I was putting away clothes while she was playing in the tub when I heard her yell out, "MOMMY, I ALL DONE!" I went to go get her and was surprised to see her standing up, arms reaching out to me with a look of terror on her face. It wasn't until I had her wrapped up in the towel that I saw the reason for all the horror. Little poop.

So this is a conversation I have with her almost daily:

Me: Macey, you need to take a bath-y.
Macey: NO Mommy, I don't want to poop in the tub-y!
Me: You don't have to poop in the tub, Mace.
Macey: Don't havta poop in the tub?
Me: No, only if you want to.
Macey: I don't want to poop in the tub-y.

And even when I coerse her into taking a bath... I hear all sorts of random things about #2:

"Don't poop in the tub-y"
"Don't poop on the ornage (orange)"
"Don't poop on the Lucy potty"
"Don't poop on Mommy's eggs (legs)"

I could go on. This kid has some serious poop issues. She's now even scared to poop in her diaper, and will scream bloody murder when I have her sit on the potty. How can I help her overcome this fear? This is going to be zero fun for potty training, which I fully intended on starting like, last month. Randy made the suggestion that I buy the book Everyone Poops. I think I may buy it, purely for the cover picture of that poor kid who is obviously constipated.

Want to see how 2 year olds party it up on New Years Eve?

Macey and her cousin Tyler. They're a month apart.

Oh yeah. They're crazy. I am totally saving the last picture for a black mail opportunity. I'm sure it will come in handy some day.

Thanks for taking the pics, Heather!

Little bit of everything.

So, Merry Christmas! And, Happy New Year! I hope everyone has been enjoying the holidays. While I am up with a sick kiddo (would it really be a holiday without someone in my family getting sick? No!) I figured I could post some pictures of what we've been up to during the break.

Christmas was good, and toned down. Which was great for us. I got an awesome necklace that I can (and do) wear everyday and some maternity clothes. Randy got hooked up with some Jazz paraphernalia and random tools that I think are cool. Macey got these darling doll high chair and crib set, with a cabbage patch doll, and a little tykes digital camera. She was most excited for her slippers and Christmas pajamas, though. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas at our house, which I love! Macey was really into it this year. We talked about baby Jesus for a bit, but it wasn't long before she started talking about Santa's reindeer, cookies and presents. When we put her to bed, I knew we were in for a long night. She was so wired. She stayed up 'til 1 AM running circles around in her room singing "tinkle bells" and "Santa Claus is coming to town!" It was so dang cute that it was hard to get mad at her... especially since she knew to stay in her room. We had told her that Santa would not give her any presents if she came out. =) We ended up having to wake up her at 9 AM. Poor thing was exhausted... but I couldn't wait any more! She got right up and ran to the table to see that Santa had indeed eaten her cookies and milk she set out for him. She was thrilled! So cute. Can't wait for next year.

We had our good friends Ben and Sara and his brother Marc and wife Whitney over for Christmas dinner later that day. They are from London and didn't get to go home to see their families this year. We had fun stuffing ourselves with turkey (which I did again. I'm pretty much a professional by now), ham, loaded potatoes, salads, and all sorts of desserts. It was fun and relaxing... we played games for hours before the weather started getting really bad and they needed to hit the road. I think they are all sold on spending Christmas at home now, too. It's so nice!

The day after Christmas we made the icy trek to Logan to be with the Slades. It was a good time. Logan always treats us well. I snapped a few shots of Macey dancing around while Grandpa Larry played his guitar and sang Macey's favorite Christmas songs to her with Daddy playing his cello along, too. This is getting to be a tradition whenever we go visit, and it is so precious! Grandma Bonnie is usually playing the violin but she was busy with her camera, too (nevermind, I just found some with her in there playing the violoin. I'm too lazy to rewrite my sentence). =) These pictures will mean so much to Macey when she gets older. I have a new found appreciation for a grandparent/grandchild relationship. It is so sweet.

On the 30th we then ventured up to Idaho Falls to be with my fam. We spent New Years Eve eating my mom's famous clam chowder (that my dad requested we make) and inhaling as many chips, cookies, and carbonated bubbly drinks as we possibly could. It made for a good time.(I'll have to steal pictures posted on my sisters blogs, because I forgot my camera). My Dad taught me how to play Yahtzee! (and was a good sport about totally losing), and we had lots of old man laughter at each other's answers at Scattergories. We went to sleep totally exhausted. Macey woke up at 4:30 AM that morning with a barking cough that scared us both. She cried, and I cussed. We doctored her up with some Motrin today and later tonight to break her awful fever, I hope it's something she can sleep off. I'm a little worried though, because Randy's niece was dealing with croup while we were in Logan. Anyway, that's been our only set back this whole trip! It's been a great vacation, we're probably headed back tomorrow. Time to get back to reality! Randy starts his last semester of school on Monday. WOOT WOOT!

Happy Holidays, everyone! May 2009 be a great year for us all! =)
