You're all invited!

For the fear of divulging too much information, I have erased the where's and when's. I would love for friends and family (that I didn't already send this announcement to... c'mon, stamps are 42 cents now, people! Pretty much only siblings and grandparents got one of these babies) to come to Collin's blessing, if you are in the area and are interested let me know and I'll fill in the blanks for ya!

Needless to say, things have been a little busy around here preparing for the big day. When things calm down a little and Collin is sleeping and Macey is occupied, I need to get on here and upload some recent pictures. Collin is smiling and cooing like crazy, he is such a cute little bum! And he's finally getting some chub on him!! Macey is still pooping in a diaper... so really, no change there.

Happy Mother's Day

Aren't they so pretty? Ya done good, Randy.

In honor of Mother's Day and my Mother, I thought I would share just some of my favorite happy memories of her today.

Her old man laughter when watching the movie Christmas Vacation. "Where's the tylenol!?" I would get so excited before we would even begin watching the movie because I knew what was coming.... my Mom laughing so hard that she cries (and possibly snorts).

How she was my confidante in my high school years and beyond. Some days I couldn't wait to come home from school or some outing so I could tell her what had happened. Not many teenage girls could say the same thing, I don't think.

How she would take the day off of work and baby me when I was sick. I always knew I could count on a coke when I stayed home from school. I may or may not have used this to my advantage when I was younger. :)

She came with me to help me move into my first apartment in Provo. The plan was she would help me unload and get settled, and then head to my brother's house in Tooele later that day. Well, that didn't happen. We couldn't let each other go, so we stayed the night together at my brother's house, and then finally parted ways the next day. We both cried pretty hard.

We made up with being apart by talking on the phone everyday when I was going to BYU. If I didn't call her to check in, she would call me. When I got married a year and a half later we cut the phone calls down to about 3 times a week. I loved those phone conversations.

I miss hearing her silly "cuss" words. Some are non-repeatable (haha!), but the ones like "coon dog butt" and "tin can butt" and "gadfree" are classics, in my book.

Probably what I miss the most is watching her with her grandchildren and her undying, head-over-heels love for them. She couldn't get enough.

So Happy Mother's Day, Mom! I sure do miss and love you!

True Story.

Tonight I decided that instead of torturing Collin with a bath all by his lonesome, I would see if maybe he liked taking baths with Momma. Come to find out- he does. In fact, he was so relaxed, that he peed all over the both of us. I whined to Randy that I was stewing in my son's pee, to which he jokingly said "at least it's not poop!" And then...

Just some pics.

We recently got a new camera. Cashed in our reward points with Merrill Lynch (at least they're good for something! Cause our stocks aren't...) and got a Nikon D60 - it's a digital SLR and it's awesome! So you could say we got it for freeeeeee? I'm not very good at taking pictures yet, prolly cause Randy won't ever let me put my paws on it. He's always taking pictures with it... seriously. He even took pictures of the kebabs we grilled tonight! And let me tell you, they were amazing.

Anyway, here are some pictures I made Randy take the other night just for fun. We'll have to take some more of little man Collin when he's not so tired and/or ornery. He's a month old! Can you believe it!?

Easy as pie...

or so I thought. Collin has been such an easy baby, and Macey has been a trooper and a great big helper that I thought this whole 2 kid thing was going to be cake! ... And then Collin had a bad night. It took me 2 days/nights to recover from that bad night... and so it goes. Two kids is doable, if the baby will give me 2 good nights for every bad night he has. If not, I rely heavily on Randy and naps... and Spongebob. Too bad you can't bribe newborns.

Everything is looking good with little dude though, at his two week appt he weighed 6 lb 2 oz (2 oz above his birth weight), and was 19 inches long... so he's making great progress! The weather was nice this past week (until I said how much I enjoy the nice weather, and then it turned cold again) so I ventured out to the neighborhood park with both kids BY MYSELF. Of course I had to take pictures, it was a monumental milestone for me! I HAVE 2 KIDS, PEOPLE! And I can take them to the park. By myself. Yeah... I know... SuperMom.

But, if you happen to drop by my house and see the dark circles under my blood shot eyes, or my milk stained pajamas that I've been wearing for the past 3 days, if you notice my hair that has been pulled back into a tiny perma pony tail... don't judge me. Even Super Moms have their days. Now go get me a friggin' Dr. Pepper, stat.

Visitors

We've been really spoiled with lots of visitors this past week! Randy's parents came and stayed with us for a day, and then took Macey to their house for a couple of days... they took great care of us! And my Dad came with my sister Heather for a day trip to see the little dude this past Monday. That same day my sister Natalie flew in from Boise and my other sister Shalean drove down from Pocatello to come take (excellent) care of me and the kiddos for a couple of days. It's been so nice having family around... and I'm proud to say I only cried once when my sisters left! A big thanks to everyone! It means so much to me.

Now I'm officially home alone with the 2 of them, but have meals coming in for another week from my awesome ward and neighbors... man, am I spoiled or what?!
