High School questionaire

I saw this on a friends blog, and even though I wasn't tagged, I am still doing it! :P It's pretty fun to talk about high school with Randy since we didn't go to the same one. I love hearing about his fun times!

Edit: in case you can't tell, randy likes to make fun of internet lingo and spellage. He really can spell ever. I promise.

1. Who was your best friend?
DaNae: Brooke, Camille, Dananda, Liza
Randy: Patrick G, Patrick N, C, Cory, Spencer, Becky, Claire, Ade, Mindy

2. Did you play any sports?
DaNae: Is cheerleading a sport?
Randy: Is just for fun

3. What kind of car did you drive?
DaNae: Well, this is complicated. I STARTED driving an '89 Dodge Colt until someone stole it (yes, stole it) and accidentally (mistook the brake for the clutch.. who doesn't, right?) rammed it into a cement slab in front of our high school going 40 mph. After that I drove an '87 Nissan Sentra (aka the naughty nissan), and then when that died I drove a '91 Chevy Lumina! SUWEET! :P
Randy: I drove my Grandmas old Caddy for a while when I first turned sixteen. I remember the back seat was really slippery and my friends loved riding back there because they would slide back and forth when I turned. It was a boat. That winter, my parents helped me buy my brothers 93 Nissan Pathfinder. This was a sweet ride that started my affinity for Nissans. It had a BANGIN system too.

4. It’s Friday night. Where were you?
DaNae: Probably sitting in the parking lot of Abbot's figuring out what we were going to do... or out with my high school boyfriend.
Randy: I didn't make out very much in high school, not like DaNae. We mostly did stupid things that were a complete waste of time compared to mackin on hotties all night. We played lots of video games, played lots of basketball and frisbee, drank water til we puked (not joking), and even went through a very short phase where we were very into pro wrestling. It is for real. We also did a ton of stuff in the out of doors like fishing, hiking, camping, roasting mallows and all those other stuff. We had imaginations for sure. I mean, don't get me wrong, I wanted to be making out the whole time, but it's probably better I wasn't, I would have just broken a lot of hearts.

5. Were you a party animal?
DaNae: hardly, I wasn't really one for the parties
Randy: Like it was 1999! Actually, we partied about as hard as you could if you didn't involve illegal substances. We were very clean but had lots of fun.

6. Were you considered a flirt?
DaNae: Probably... I never thought I was back then, but hindsight is 20/20 eh?
Randy: Some, not all. Only with real hotties for sure though.

7. Were you in the band, orchestra or choir?
DaNae: No, unfortunately I am not really musically inclined. Sorry Bonnie.
Randy: Holy carp! YES! I was only the coolest orchestra geek there ever was. I rocked the cello almost every day of high school, which was awesome. I even got to tour Europe for a month in an orchestra. I was so good and awesome. Go me.

8. Were you a nerd?
DaNae: I don't think we would have been labeled as nerds, no. More like "they think they are so cool".
Randy: ROFL YES! But a cool nerd. Ya, for real. =p

9. Were you ever suspended or expelled?
DaNae: I think I came close... something about a senior prank... but I wasn't there, so I never got suspended.. but my friends did. HAHA LIZA!!
Randy: Hardly. Drivers license MAYBE.

10. Can you sing the fight song?
DaNae: Not the words (did it even have words?), but I can still remember the tune and the entire dance that the cheerleaders did!
Randy: No, but I was a dedicated fan and could once upon a time.

11. Who was your favorite teacher?
DaNae: Mr. Mort - my US Gov't professor
Randy: Mr. Ashton - orchestra maestro

12. What was your school mascot?
DaNae: TROJAN! GooooooOOOO TROJANS!! :P
Randy: Grizzlies - they are bears.

13. Did you go to the Prom?
DaNae: Yes, barely... my senior prom I didn't have a boyfriend, so I didn't get asked until like the last minute... I was freaking out, man.
Randy: Yes, I was so hawt.

14. If you could go back, would you?
DaNae: Heck no! There was so much drama in high school, I am embarrassed that I was a part of it. Pretty sure I was a drama queen.
Randy: Is just for fun

15. What do you remember most about graduation?
DaNae: I remember thinking YES... I am out of here... BYU, here I come!! I left like 6 days after graduation. I am out to find me a husband! Haha, was I a man trap, Randy?
Randy: Sleeping over at Nate Arms with cool people.

16. Where were you on Senior Skip Day?
DaNae: Where everyone else was... digging trucks in really deep mud and getting thrown in by boys... and it's called Senior Sluff, thank you very much. :) Seriously, people would buy beat up cars and trucks just for this day. My BFF's and I even had one that we wrecked! HAHA.
Randy: Probably wasting my time playing volleyball or something. We did a lot of that our senior year. HAHA.

17. Did you have a job your senior year?
DaNae: The summer before my senior year I worked at Bear World, and then my friend Camille and I worked at a telemarketing company for a few months after cheerleading was over. And if giving plasma counts as a job... yeah, we did lots of that.
Randy: Just for Larry.

18. Where did you go most often for lunch?
DaNae: Hmmm, it's a toss up between Arctic Circle, Subway, and La Pizzaria! (open campus)
Randy: Mostly the Old Grist Mill. Lots of Carls Jr too, since it was newish to Logan. Oh yeah, and how could I ever forget La Unica (THE ONEICA!). Best burritos and stuff evar!

19. Have you gained weight since then?
DaNae: Can we just skip this question? Between having a baby and having a troublesome thyroid/metabolism/whatever, I don't even want to think about it!
Randy: No, slim as a pickle. That likes to eat lots and lots of hamburgers and french fries and coke and other meats but is trying to stop eating so much of those things. That is the kind of pickle I resemble, which is way hawt.

20. What did you do after graduation?
DaNae: We had an all night party, and then I spent as much time with my friends and family as I could before leaving to the Y.
Randy: Spent the summer playing with friends and getting ready to go to BYU. We had some great times.

21. What year did you graduate?
DaNae: 2003
Randy: 2000

22. Who was your Senior Prom Date?
DaNae: John O, who I think was badgered in to asking me since he didn't have a date and I didn't have a date... good times.
Randy: Becky. We macked like all night. Just kiddin. (Jealous Pit?) She's some other dudes wife now. We had fun though.

23. Are you going/did you go to your 5/10 year reunion?
DaNae: Well my 5 is this year, but I don't know if we're going to make it or not. I'm betting not. Summer is CRAZY!
Randy: I don't think we had a 5 year! At least none of the cool kids told me about it. I sure can't wait to show off my hawtness in 2010 though.

Good times!!! Got to love high school memories!

Haha... yeah, Randy tried way too hard. It took him like 2 hours to come up with those answers.

Camille- I was remembering our good times... but I started laughing out loud when I was reminiscing about how we almost started Rigby Lake on FIRE?! And you tried to RUN OFF? Ahaha. Girls Night Outs were the best.

Camille Kinghorn said...

Oh come on i didn't run off.. i was trying to get that garbage can down to the water to put the fire out, but it was chained to the tree!! Then I was trying to get all the guys to come help... while you guys were trying to put a huge fire out with half filled water bottles..and Dr Pepper!! HAHAHA wow we really did have some good times!! :)

DaNae, it took Randy 2 hours to answers the questions because it takes time to think of how to word things to sound modest. Next time, tell him not to hold back, tell it like it really is.

Five year reunion? Whatever. That's like you've been on summer vacation. This year is my 20th and HS graduation seems like a couple of years ago.

Such fun hearing from nephew Randy. Wish I knew him better. I'm surely glad to be getting to know you a little big through your blog. Thanks!

Hi Slades! This is Claire...one of Randy's many favorite friends from HS! It was funny to read your post! Totally brought back memories. But you forgot to mention a few things we did on the weekends, Randy, involving bread!?!? Hello. I thought that would've been one of your favorite pasttimes. And I have many memories of the pathfinder, like you driving so fast on the dirt road right by my house, through the water, until water came leaking in through the sunroof. Good times. Hope you don't mind me reading your blog, I found it off Beck's. If you want to read ours, email me at jareclaire@gmail.com
