So long, farewell

I decided not to post anything until it was absolutely final. Scared of jinxing things, you know. I'm pretty good at that. But now I think it's safe to say... WE SOLD OUR HOUSE! Woot! We closed on it today, and I said my final goodbyes. It was bittersweet. I loved that house for so many reasons.

5) It was off the road. I didn't have to worry about Macey and roads... nor did I have second thoughts about running around in my nothings all day with open windows. :D
4) Big private backyard.
3) Vaulted ceilings made for lots of natural light. Love.
2) It took 10 minutes to get anywhere.
1) The neighbors. I get teary eyed thinking about how much I will miss the people (young and old) in that area. It never really hit me until now, because we still had the house and visited quite a bit and saw everyone. I couldn't have asked for a better mix of friends. Some of my best friends from that area are 50 year old women, and some 16 year old girls!

The buyers really lucked out. I hope they realize that. :) If not, they will shortly!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Saturday morning Randy ran to the store before Macey woke up to surprise her with some Valentine's Day goodies. He came home with a bouquet of balloons and a disney princess purse with a stuffed doggy inside it. She was thrilled!! It was so cute. She carried her balloons everywhere she went that day, we even had to take them in the car with us! We took her to lunch with her McDonald's bucks her Grandpa gave her for Valentine's Day. It was quite the day! And of course it wouldn't be a holiday without us decorating some sort of dessert for it! We made cupcakes, and I ate them all.

Amazed, yet again

by the wit of my almost 3 year old.

This morning I was greeted by a very sick lethargic husband. He puked a total of 8 times before I said this is enough. We're taking you to the doctor. He doesn't have the luxury of toughing it out, with school and work, you know. 2 bags of saline, 2 shots to the rear with anti-nausea medication, and 4 hours later... we were home with a much happier, albeit sleepier, Randy. Macey and I got him all carefully tucked away into bed, turned the lights off and were tip-toeing out so he could get some much needed rest when Macey turns around and whispers in the dark:

Daddy? You're a genius.

It's not near as fun when she says something and I can say "oh, she got that from so and so". My favorite is when I am completely baffled by her little mind. Just like in that instance. Awesome.
