Color.

Today we were pleasantly surprised by the weather.  Lots of clouds and sprinkling showers for a good portion of the day. It was a nice change. We went out in our backyard to enjoy and I was amazed at the color! Everything was just so bright and cheery, I decided to get out the camera and try my hand with the portrait lens. I'll be the first to admit that I am not a great photographer, but I did enjoy taking them anyway. :)

This tree is gorgeous and is in full bloom right now. I need to take a picture of the whole thing so you can see how pretty it is but this was the wrong lens for that.
Different tree, almost in full bloom.
My favorite annuals that I plant every year: petunias. These are in a basket. It looks like the flower I was focusing on has holes in it, but they are really white specks and kind of cool looking.
Rose bush. This was the only flower on the whole thing. It's Macey's favorite bush to pick from. :) It's an awful picture but I'm posting it anyway so you can see the awesome color!
Another rose bush that desperately needs pruning.
Some more petunias.
Pansies (or Violas?). These babies are awesome. Every Spring I think they are dead because I haven't done a thing to them, but they always grow back and stronger then ever.
This is a flower that is blooming right now from the Ivy growing on the side of our house. This is Randy's favorite. At first he was laughing at me for taking pictures of our backyard but then he goes.... "did you get the ivy flower?" Haha.
And last, but not least... a sad picture of my growing garden! We pulled out shrubs this year to plant a garden that would get better sunlight and I was so excited! I planted before Memorial Day and watered and waited and watered and waited... nothing grew! Finally when the warm weather started coming more regularly my poor little pepper plants started to get bigger! I can hardly wait! We LOVE peppers! Grow babies grow! Carrots behind the peppers and in the right corner is the monstrosity that is our lettuce.
I'm particularly proud of my garden surviving because it puts up with this on a regular basis...
And I'm surprised we have any flowers left because of this...
I taught her this trick. Smelling a flower is not enough.

The colors are amazing! Your backyard must look awesome right now! What caught my eye the most though, are Macey's blue eyes! Beautiful!!!!
