So long, farewell

I decided not to post anything until it was absolutely final. Scared of jinxing things, you know. I'm pretty good at that. But now I think it's safe to say... WE SOLD OUR HOUSE! Woot! We closed on it today, and I said my final goodbyes. It was bittersweet. I loved that house for so many reasons.

5) It was off the road. I didn't have to worry about Macey and roads... nor did I have second thoughts about running around in my nothings all day with open windows. :D
4) Big private backyard.
3) Vaulted ceilings made for lots of natural light. Love.
2) It took 10 minutes to get anywhere.
1) The neighbors. I get teary eyed thinking about how much I will miss the people (young and old) in that area. It never really hit me until now, because we still had the house and visited quite a bit and saw everyone. I couldn't have asked for a better mix of friends. Some of my best friends from that area are 50 year old women, and some 16 year old girls!

The buyers really lucked out. I hope they realize that. :) If not, they will shortly!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Saturday morning Randy ran to the store before Macey woke up to surprise her with some Valentine's Day goodies. He came home with a bouquet of balloons and a disney princess purse with a stuffed doggy inside it. She was thrilled!! It was so cute. She carried her balloons everywhere she went that day, we even had to take them in the car with us! We took her to lunch with her McDonald's bucks her Grandpa gave her for Valentine's Day. It was quite the day! And of course it wouldn't be a holiday without us decorating some sort of dessert for it! We made cupcakes, and I ate them all.

Amazed, yet again

by the wit of my almost 3 year old.

This morning I was greeted by a very sick lethargic husband. He puked a total of 8 times before I said this is enough. We're taking you to the doctor. He doesn't have the luxury of toughing it out, with school and work, you know. 2 bags of saline, 2 shots to the rear with anti-nausea medication, and 4 hours later... we were home with a much happier, albeit sleepier, Randy. Macey and I got him all carefully tucked away into bed, turned the lights off and were tip-toeing out so he could get some much needed rest when Macey turns around and whispers in the dark:

Daddy? You're a genius.

It's not near as fun when she says something and I can say "oh, she got that from so and so". My favorite is when I am completely baffled by her little mind. Just like in that instance. Awesome.

Ever wonder...

what have I gotten myself into? Like, sometimes when I have that horrid heartburn that no medicine will touch, or when I get up to pee 8 times a night, or can't find a comfortable position (no matter the number of pillows) to sleep in... I wonder that.

But then I look at pictures like this:

and this

and this

and this

and I KNOW that it's all worth it. :)

Pictures taken from our new book, Everyone Poops...

Now that's just not fair! They really had me going.

Ch Ch Ch Ch Changes..

For one, Randy started a new job working for a mortgage company that specializes in government loan refinances. It has the potential to be a fantastic opportunity for us. He just started this week and is learning a lot! Scheduling work and school has been fun. He is gone most days from 8-8. Not so much fun for me, since we are a one car family now... but these are the days, right? Haha. I think I am fine with the schedule during the week, but he also has the same schedule this weekend (he's getting certified), and I am so burnt out. I should have brought Randy to work this morning so Macey and I could have gotten out of the house today, but after I made him breakfast this morning, I went back to bed and was out cold in .5 seconds. But I'm greatful for the job! Randy is catching on quickly and already has had some leads come through. Yay for that!

I'm going on 28 weeks now, and feel HUGE. I'm carrying really low and different this time around, but everything's good! I'm due for another appointment soon, but have been putting it off because I dread that dreadful glucose test. Gag! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone! Here's a picture of me a couple of days ago, just so you can see the hugeness that is my baby belly. Still trying to decide on a name.

And here is our poor kitten, who lost her mittens. And by mittens I mean ovaries. We had her spayed on Wednesday, and have been taking extra special care of her since then. Poor thing has to wear that stupid funnel for 2 weeks!! I thought that was cruel and unusual, so I took it off her one day and she went straight for her stitches. I guess those things do serve a purpose. Macey says to everyone that comes and visits "Lucy's a doctor". It's been pretty funny watching the poor kitty try and walk around with that huge thing around her neck and being all hopped up on pain medication. She falls over regularly, and hits her head into walls. It makes for good entertainment.
I'm trying to think of what else... oh! Macey will finally get into the tub without me forcing her in it... I just have to talk about her Cinderella shampoo. I've also gotten her to sit on her little potty, but she refuses to take her pants or diaper off to do it. Baby steps, baby steps. She's getting more used to poop by the day, though! Today when I changed her diaper she told me "Ugh, I stink SO BAD!" So hopefully we're onto something...

Never a dull moment.

How do 2 year olds come up with some of the things they say? I'll never know...

Macey: Oh mommy, you want me to do a pretty hair styles on you? (with a doll brush in one hand and a Rock Band drum stick in the other)
Me: Yeah! I love it when people play with my hair!
Macey: Oh mommy, you so girly!
Me: I guess so.
After she's done curling my hair with the drum stick and tangling the brush in my hair:
Macey: Oh mommy, you're so classy!
